QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKING * CORPORATE TRAINING * TEAM RETREATS Rudy traveled to Bethesda Naval Hospital to spend time with the patients. He gave them inspirational and encouraging messages to try and speed their recovery. He spent the day going to various wards and personally meeting with and shaking hands of the men and women who have defended our country. Rudy visited the Pentagon and also the 9-11 Memorial and was very moved at how the people who perished in the awful disaster were remembered. He was accompanied on his visit by several Colonels and other members of the staff. He also took time out of his busy schedule to visit with one the Colonel's son's middle schools in the area. They were thrilled at his unexpected visit. Rudy did a recent presentation at a corporate event where it was requested that he send a note to an avid Notre Dame fan that is 100 years old. Rudy personally sent him a note and the CEO of the company relayed that the man called him in tears to thank him and indirectly Rudy for the nice gesture. His daughter also got on the phone and crying said that she had not seen her father this happy in a long time. While in Chicago, Rudy went with a group of gentlemen of a prayer group to visit the inmates at the Cook County Jail. The night before, he attended a prayer dinner with the group, and gave a short presentation. He had dinner with the inmates and spoke to them about rehabilitating themselves and striving for a positive attitude. Rudy attended the TEXAS A&M vs. Army game and spoke at a 12 man football banquet for all walk on players Rudy attended the June Jones Foundation event Mustang Legends for Charity. This was in support of his friend June Jones who had been named head football coach at SMU and Rudy spoke at their kick off dinner about his friendship with June over the years, and how much the team would enjoy playing for him as a coach. Rudy recently was awarded the 2008 Best of Henderson Award in the Motivational & Self Improvement Training category by the U.S. Local Business Association(USLBA) This award recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These companies enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community. Rudy has been asked to participate in Heroes Week at Greenspun Junior High the week of Dec. 1-5. Greenspun was awarded the Platinum Award by Nevada PIE for outstanding achievement in inclusive practices. They will be holding an assembly each day to highlight one of the heroes in the community who triumphed over personal challenges. They feel Rudy's story and presence, by his example, would be a great inspiration to the entire student body.
