Rudy Helps Raise Awareness of Childhood Cancer
Rudy hosted a benefit at the Marriott in South Bend, Indiana in honor of the Henry Tucker Foundation. Rudy's mission was to raise awareness of childhood cancer and offer support to families. Proceeds from the event benefited Austin McGowan a local 14 year old living with Leukemia. Rudy International donated several memorabilia items for the auction in order to raise additional funds. The event took place in March, 2008

Rudy was a celebrity guest at the 13th annual "One More Victory, Ara!" event in April, 2008. Ara Parseghian has lost three of his grandchildren to the disease. The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation is a volunteer, non-profit organization that funds research projects which will lead to a treatment for Niemann-Pick Type C disease (NP-C). NP-C is a genetic disorder that affects children and young adults by interfering with their ability to metabolize cholesterol. Niemann-Pick Type C is progressive, degenerative and always fatal (until a cure is found). Rudy International donated various memorabilia for the event's auction to help raise more funds. The event took place in April, 2008.

Rudy attended the Jo Mackey Academy of Leadership & Global Communication Magnet Elementary School for Nevada Reading Week. Rudy participated in the reading program in February, 2008 along with many other notable people who also participated in the program. Jo Mackey's definition of leadership applies to each and every child at Jo Mackey. Leadership means taking the lead, the responsibility and the initiative for your education. As individuals, students will be able to manage future challenges in a rapidly changing world. Reading Week took place the week of February 25th, 2008 in Henderson, NV

DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation Event
Rudy will be attending the upcoming Edward J. Debartolo, Sr. memorial Scholarship Foundation in June, 2008. The Edward J. Special Request Rudy had the opportunity and privilege of speaking to a young man (36 years of age) who was a big fan of Rudy and was dying from Leukemia. As a last wish his family contacted Rudy to request that Rudy call the young man and speaks to him. Rudy made the call and the young man died shortly after. The family said the call meant the world to Ken and couldn't thank Rudy enough.
